The Big Bear Hostel is the ONLY hostel in Big Bear and we think its one of the best in the world! Big Bear Lake, California is a mountain paradise 60 miles east of Los Angeles (2 hours drive) in the San Bernardino National Forest. We are 5 minutes from Southern California's 2 most popular ski/snowboard resorts. Snow Season is Nov-April. The hostel is across the street from a lakeside park and there is hiking and biking in the National Forest at the end of our street. The hostel is new and clean. You have 24hr access to the hostel with no curfew. We have a huge sun deck with BBQ and views of the lake. Come enjoy our very chill town. Walk to 10 pubs and many restaurants, movies, and shops, and visitors' center which are all 1 block from the hostel. Our guests share our two big houses each with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, full kitchens, gas BBQ on huge party deck, and living room / lounges with fantastic views of the lake and mountains.

We have dorm beds starting at $24 and private rooms starting at $39 (off-season).

Room Descriptions

Room 1: Up to 7 people can share this room. It has two bunk beds with single over double mattresses and a single twin by intself. It has a big cable TV, Free Wifi and shelves for clothing.

Room 2: (2 people max) Our "Honeymoon Room":
Full size queen bed with Cable TV in an armoire with shelves.

Room 3 (6 person max) The "Group Bunk Room":
3 twin over twin bunk beds, futon sofa, HUGE Cable Tv w/inputs, in room sink w/mirror

Room 4: (8 person max) This is our mixed dormitory. You can rent this room for large groups or just rent a bed and share it with other guests.

Room 5: (3 person max) This room has a single over double bunk bed, dresser, closet with mirrored doors, cable TV.

Room 6 & 7: The hostel "Penthouse" rooms. These rooms both have fantastic views in 3 directions of the lake and surrounding mountains. Each room has a double bed for two by itself and a twin over twin bunk bed. (4 people max), Cable TV, and closet for clothes storage.

Room 8: (3 people max) This room has 3 twin beds, 1 bunk bed and 1 single twin. This room has a closet for luggage / clothes storage.

Room 9: (4 bed mixed dorm) This dorm has 2 twin / twin bunk beds.

Room 10 & 11: (3 people max) This small private room has a twin over double mattress bunk bed. Good for a couple or 3 friends. There is also a small table and chair.

Room 12: (2 people max) Great for 2 friends. This room has a single over single bunk bed and desk w/chair and shelves for storage.
